Situational Homelessness
Situational homelessness is defined as the status of being forced to live without housing due to a specific emergency, such as a natural disaster, job loss, or death of a primary income earner.
In the event of a disaster, temporary shelter may be set up for individuals to seek immediate refuge. However, when this resource is quickly exhausted and dismantled, citizens are expected to return to life as it was and are left without the resources to rebuild.
Situational homelessness can be temporary or long term, depending on the crisis and resources available.
